Upon arrival in Doğubayazıt, you will meet your certified local guide and climbing team. After a short briefing about the expedition, we transfer by 4WD vehicle to the Mount Ararat National Park. The truck will take us approximately 10-15 km up the mountain along a rugged dirt road. From this point, we begin trekking towards the Base Camp at around 3,200 meters, where tents and camping gear will be set up for the night.
Overnight at Base Camp.
After an early morning at the base, we start hiking towards the High Camp, located at approximately 4,200 meters. Today’s route includes steady elevation gains with magnificent views of the surrounding valleys and plateaus. Upon arrival, your guide sets up the tents and prepares the camp for the night. This stage also allows time for acclimatization, which is essential before the summit attempt.
Overnight at High Camp.
Today marks the highlight of the climb. We begin the ascent early in the morning to reach the summit of Mount Ararat, standing at 5,137 meters (16,854 ft). From the peak, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views spanning four countries: Turkey, Armenia, Iran, and Azerbaijan. After spending time at the summit, we descend back to the High Camp for rest and recovery.
Overnight at High Camp.
On the final day, we descend from High Camp back to the starting point where our 4WD vehicles will be waiting. From here, we transfer back to Doğubayazıt, where the expedition concludes. You may either rest in the town or continue with your onward travel plans.
